We’re halfway through the year. Can you believe it? School is out for the summer, families are at their favorite vacation spots, and others are binge-watching their favorite streaming series.
While the summer brings lots of activities, some of our priorities, like fitness or daily nutrition, might take a back seat. All is not lost, however, my friend. You’ve got what it takes to get back on track or start your wellness journey today!
You might be asking yourself, “Where should I start?”
First, it’s helpful to know this wellness journey may get uncomfortable – and that’s okay. Purse the discomfort. Embrace the thing that brings you a bit of fear or trepidation. The idea of pursuing discomfort is a core value we take seriously at Highpoint. Make your wellness goals realistic, and that will push you outside of your comfort zone.
Second, create an action list or what I call a Power List! The list shows the things you must complete daily – no ifs, ands, or buts about it. These daily action items will guide you down your desired fitness path.
Need inspiration on how to create your list? Below is the Power List I use every day.
The Power List
- 45-minute workout
- Read 10 pages out of a self-help/motivational book
- 15 mins of nutrition, wellness, or pilot education (Yep! I’m going to be captain Jamie soon.)
- Five comments on Instagram
- Hit daily macros and protein
Your journey to wellness requires you to pursue discomfort but making a Power List will give you the framework to bring balance back into your life.
